Yann Vincent, a former top executive with Renault and AvtoVAZ, will join the French railway equipment maker Alstom Transport, effective Sept. 1.
Vincent, 52, was most recently chief operating officer with AvtoVAZ, in which Renault has a 25 percent stake.
Paris-born Vincent joined Renault in 1982 as a vehicle architect and moved up to head the carmakers factory in Douai, France, in 1998.
In 2004, he was promoted to head Renaults the mid-range vehicle program and a year later became quality director. In March 2008 he moved to Russia to be COO at AvtoVAZ.
Vincent will be vice president of industrial rolling stock at Alstom Transport, which has annual sales sales of 5.5 billion euros.
