MUNICH -- At the Frankfurt auto show, Skoda will unveil a station wagon version of its Superb mid-sized sedan, marking the first time the Czech carmaker has created such a variant of its flagship model.
Skoda has released a teaser image of the new Superb wagon ahead of its launch at the show on September 15.
The picture shows that the Superb's styling will be similar to the Octavia compact station wagon. The new car will have a wheelbase that is similar to the 2758mm offered by the Superb sedan.
The Superb wagon is expected to have an exceptionally spacious trunk. The car will go on sale after the Frankfurt show, with prices in Germany starting at 24,400 euros.
It will be offered with three gasoline and three diesel engines from the current Superb range. The powerplants will be linked to five-, six- or seven-speed transmissions. High-end variants will offer Skoda parent Volkswagen AG's dual-clutch transmission.
