The race to be Russia's top-selling foreign car got a little more interesting in October. Renault's Logan outsold the Ford Focus 5,076 to 3,677 units in October to pull within 548 units of the current leader.
Through 10 months, Ford has sold 44,143 units of its St. Petersburg-produced Focus while Renault has sold 43,595 units of its Moscow-made Logan. (Click on Russia Top 10 table, right)
Sales of both cars are down compared with last year. The Focus's volume has slipped 41 percent compared with the first 10 months of 2008 while the Logan has fallen 32 percent during the same period. Both cars continue to outperform the market, which is down 51 percent to 1.23 million units after 10 months. (Click on Russia sales table, right)
