MUNICH -- Aston Martin will open its first dealership in South America in April, the company said in a statement.
The showroom will be in the exclusive Vitacura neighborhood in Chile's capital city Santiago.
Owned by Martin Borda, Hugo Leon and Matias Velasco of Comercial y Arrendamientos Leon Ltda., the dealership will offer Aston Martin's full model lineup, which includes the V8 Vantage, DB9, the flagship DBS and the upcoming Rapide four-door sports car.
Aston Martin's South American operations will be overseen by Aston Martin the Americas' head office in Irvine, California, USA.
“Chile has a rapidly expanding luxury sports car market and it was imperative that we carefully consider the right location and association for Aston Martin in the region,” Julian Jenkins, Aston Martin the Americas Vice President and General Manager, said in a statement.
It is expected that the dealership will deliver more than fifteen of the British brand's hand-crafted high-end sports cars in its first year of operation.
A second South American dealership is expected to open in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in the early part of 2010, with further expansion into other new global markets including Sweden, Poland, Greece and South Korea.
