Fiat S.p.A. executive Carlos Gomes has quit the Italian automaker to join rival PSA/Peugeot-Citroen. Gomes will head PSA's Latin American operations, succeeding Vincent Rambaud, who was named Peugeot brand CEO on April 2.
Gomes, currently head of Fiat's French and Spanish operations, will take up the new post on July 1.
Portugal-born Gomes, 45, has spent most of his career in the auto industry at Renault and Fiat.
PSA said Gomes will oversee all its commercial and industrial activities in Latin America, a key growth region for the Peugeot and Citroen brands.
