Daimler AG expects worldwide new-vehicle sales to be up this year over 2009 even though general business conditions will continue to be tough, says the company’s head of global service and parts, Frank Reintjes.
To capture what it calls a “disproportionate share” of the market recovery, Reintjes says Daimler plans to launch new aftermarket products and services this year, such as its new TruckMobility program. The service offers 24/7 breakdown assistance to truck operators in 40 European countries.
Daimler will use this year’s Automechanika trade show to showcase its aftermarket parts and logistics capabilities. These include remanufactured parts; an online sales platform called WebParts; the Xentry Diagnostics system for service technicians; and special tools and repair methods.
