The Renault-Nissan alliance has named Christian Mardrus as its new managing director effective June 1.
Reporting directly to the alliance's CEO Carlos Ghosn, Mardrus will serve as secretary to the alliance board. He will guide company activities at the offices in Paris, Yokohoma and Amsterdam and oversee the continued development of the 12-year partnership.
Mardrus replaces Mouna Sephehri in the position, who last month became executive vice president and chief of staff and general counsel at Renault. She was one of the founders of the alliance in 1999.
Mardrus, 52, has been the global logistics managing director for the Renault-Nissan Alliance since 2009 and serves as a member of Renault's management committee. He began his career with the alliance in 1999 and has a number of positions in sales, marketing and the information division.
He grew up in France near Marseille and studied engineering at the Ecole Polytechnique and Corps Interministeriel des Telecommunications in Paris.
Mouna Sepehri, a French citizen who was born in Iran, joined Renault in 1996 in the legal department.
She studied law in Paris, before beginning a career as an international corporate attorney.
