Fiat Automobiles Germany CEO Manfred Kantner will leave the company to become head of Seat Germany. The exact timing of the move is unknown.
Kantner will succeed Holger Boehme, who left the company earlier this month, a source told Automotive News Europe.
Spokesmen at Fiat and Seat declined to comment.
Boehme held the job for about nine months. Since the start of the year, Seat's sales in Europe's largest market have increased 18 percent to 39,504 units.
Sources told Automotive News Europe that Fiat Austria boss Martin Rada is a strong candidate to replace Kantner, adding that a decision has not been made yet.
Kantner took charge of German operations at the Italian automaker's Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Lancia and Jeep brands in November 2007. He started his career with Fiat in 1999.
