FRANKFURT -- Opel's sales and marketing chief Alain Visser has been promoted to Chevrolet's global marketing vice president, Opel said today.
Visser will focus on Chevrolet's marketing in all its markets outside North and South America, Opel said in a statement.
He will be responsible for defining Chevrolet's brand differentiation strategy, for overseeing marketing strategies, and for enhancing alignment in Chevrolet's markets outside America.
Opel CEO Karl-Friedrich Stracke thanked Visser for his "extraordinary contribution" during his eight years with Opel. "He has led the repositioning at Opel and raised the brand's image substantially," Stracke said in a statement.
Visser takes up his new post on March 1. He will report to Joel Ewanick, General Motors Co.'s chief marketing officer.
