LONDON -- BMW Group has promoted Jochen Goller to head of its Mini brand.
Goller, 47, will move up from his current role as Mini's UK boss on Oct. 1, BMW said in a statement Friday. The 14-year BMW veteran also has served at head of the automaker's marketing activities in China.
Goller succeeds Kay Segler, who BMW said will focus on expanding the group's communication activities in Asia.
Segler, 58, was appointed head of Mini in 2011. He also held the top spot at the successful small-car brand from 2004-2008.
During his BMW career Segler has spent several years in top roles at the company's Asian operations.
