MILAN (Reuters) -- Italian car design company Pininfarina had an operating loss of 4.5 million euros in the first six months, 1.8 million euros less than in the same period last year.
The improvement was the result of better operating conditions in Italy, rising profitability in China and a good performance from its industrial design business. The company is forecasting a positive operating result for the full year.
Net debt at end June rose to 51.6 million euros from 36.4 million euros at the end of 2013, in part due to tax charges.
The company said in a statement that parent company Pininfarina SpA's debt restructuring plan had progressed in accordance with the conditions agreed with its creditors.
