Messring, a German manufacturer of crash-test facilities, formed a Chinese subsidiary dubbed Chongqing Messring Trading Co.
The unit will build new crash-test facilities, upgrade and maintain existing facilities, and calibrate equipment.
The wholly owned subsidiary is in the Beibu district of Chongqing. The parent company, which is based in Krailling, near Munich, has built 10 crash-test facilities in China over the past decade.
One of the projects was a crash-test facility for the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute, which is based in Chongqing.
"Alongside Europe, China is our largest market and we have high hopes for the new site," company CEO Dierk Arp said. "We now have the ability to offer our Chinese customers an exceptional service portfolio and can also react more quickly to new customer demands."
