BERLIN (Reuters) -- Volkswagen Group said today that sales at its core VW passenger-car brand fell 2 percent in December to 529,500 vehicles.
"We expect the challenging market conditions to continue in 2015," sales chief Christian Klingler said in a statement.
Full-year deliveries at the brand climbed 3 percent to a record 6.1 million cars, VW said, as higher volume in Europe and China offset declines in the Americas.
In a separate statement, VW Group’s Czech unit Skoda said today that its sales rose 13 percent to a record 1.04 million cars in 2014, the first time the carmaker has reached the million mark. December sales rose 17 percent to 81,900.
