FRANKFURT -- Audi 's global vehicle sales increased 2.5 percent in April to 152,850 as robust volume in the U.S. offset slowing sales in Europe and China.
U.S. deliveries were up 7.5 percent last month to 16,827 the company said in statement today. Sales rose just 0.2 percent to 45,296 in China, Audi's No. 1 market. In Europe, volume increased just under 1 percent to 71,750. Deliveries in Russia’s struggling market slipped 42 percent to 2,116.
"Despite the upcoming generation changes in key model families and sales markets we have surpassed the record figures of the previous year,” Audi sales chief Luca de Meo said in the statement.
Audi’s four-month deliveries were up 5.2 percent to 591,050 cars.
