LONDON -- Ford Motor has promoted company veteran Linda Cash to lead its European manufacturing operations in a reshuffle of senior management.
The changes will also see Ford’s European sales boss, Peter Fleet, become the company’s Asia Pacific head of sales and marketing.
Cash will take up her new post on Jan. 1 after current European manufacturing head, Jeff Wood, retires, Ford said in a statement on Tuesday.
Wood, 55, has worked for Ford for 30 years and was director of manufacturing for the company’s North America vehicle assembly operations before taking up the European post in March 2012.
Cash, 53, has been Ford of Europe’s director of vehicle operations since March 2015.
Cash has spent her entire career with Ford. She joined the automaker in 1984 as an industrial engineer at Ford’s assembly plant in Atlanta in the U.S.
Ford said Cash has extensive experience in lean manufacturing, having served as plant manager of the company’s Michigan Truck factory, among other senior posts in manufacturing.
Cash was named one of the leading women in the auto industry by Automotive News, a sister publication of Automotive News Europe.
Fleet, 48, will start his Asia Pacific sales and marketing role on Dec. 1. Fleet’s replacement in Europe will be the subject of a future announcement, Ford said.
