RENNES, France -- PSA/Peugeot-Citroen CEO Carlos Tavares says the appointment of former Yahoo executive Brigitte Cantaloube as its first chief digital officer will help to spearhead the automaker's "digital transformation."
"It is critical that we move faster and make digitalization a competitive advantage so we can serve our customers even better and be even more efficient," Tavares said in a statement.
When asked for details on Cantaloube's duties and responsibilities, a company spokesman said she would develop PSA's digitalization plans, which include making the automaker "bolder, more agile and closer to its customers."
Cantaloube, 48, starts with PSA on Feb. 1. She will report to Tavares.
