Bentley has promoted John Paul Gregory to its head of exterior design with immediate effect, the Volkswagen Group ultraluxury brand said in a statement.
Gregory, 36, was previously Bentley's advanced exterior design leader.
An Englishman, Gregory joined Volkswagen in 2004 as an exterior designer at the automaker's Wolfsburg headquarters in Germany. He moved to Bentley four years later.
Bentley is currently undergoing a shift in its product range. The automaker has long been known for its large luxurious sedans and convertibles such as the Mulsanne, Flying Spur and Continental models, but this year the brand launched its first SUV, the Bentayga.
In an effort to attract younger customers, Bentley will decide this year whether to build a Bentayga sports coupe variant and a coupe based on the EXP 10 Speed concept, first shown at the 2015 Geneva auto show.
