Geely Automobile’s Lynk & CO brand is expected to be a serious contender in Europe because of the design and engineering help it is getting from sister brand Volvo. Meanwhile Borgward, a storied German brand revived with Chinese backing, also appears to be in position to succeed thanks to help from former Daimler executives as well as leading German suppliers. Lynk & CO will add to its challenge by trying to enter Europe only with company-owned dealers. Lynk & CO Senior Vice President Alain Visser believes the current vehicle distribution model “is broken” and provides a solution to the problem.
