Audi is bringing a high-performance variant of the TT coupe to the New York auto show next week.
Dubbed the TT RS, the model is the most powerful production TT Audi has produced, the automaker said Tuesday.
The 2018 TT RS is powered by a 2.5-liter five cylinder engine that delivers 400 hp and 354 pounds-feet (480 Nm) of torque and is combined with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The automaker said the engine is 57 pounds (26 kgs) lighter than the previous-generation powerplant, thanks in part to an aluminum engine block and a new crankshaft.
Audi's Quattro permanent all-wheel drive is standard.
The TT RS can hit 62 mph (100 kph) in 3.7 seconds, Audi said, and tops out at 155 mph (249 kph), or 174 mph (280 kph) with an optional Dynamic plus package.
The TT RS is to expected to go on sale in the first half in Europe and the U.S. Prices will start at 66,400 euros for the model in Germany.
