FRANKFURT -- Volkswagen Group said in a statement that it is shuffling its product development team as the automaker prepares for a move to future mobility that will include the introduction of electric vehicles and autonomous cars.
Elmar-Marius Licharz, 47, becomes head of the VW Group's newly created digitalization finance department. Licharz, who holds a degree in industrial engineering, began his career at McKinsey. He joined VW Group in 2005, initially taking control of cost analysis and module controlling. After a number of other roles, including head of product controlling, Licharz was appointed to run the product line for midsize and full-size vehicles at VW brand in 2016. He will hand over that job to Stefan Gies.
