Volkswagen brand has appointed Manfred Kantner as head of sales in Europe. The 51-year-old executive was previously in charge of the brand's international sales.
Kantner joined Volkswagen Group in 2011 as managing director of the Seat brand in Germany. Prior to this, he held various senior positions at Fiat, where he was promoted to CEO of German operations in 2007.
In 2014, Kantner was appointed VW's chief of sales for India and the Far East, before being promoted to head of international brand sales in 2016.
Kantner succeeds Wolf-Stefan Specht, who will become managing director of VW's Polish unit, VW said in a statement. Specht takes over from Achim Schaible, who will replace Kantner in international sales.
Schaible, 49, holds a degree in business administration and has been managing director of Volkswagen Group's Polish operations since November 2014. Prior to this, the executive worked at Renault, in roles including head of sales and later CEO for German operations, and as head of sales for mid Europe, with General Motors.
