STOCKHOLM -- Volvo's global sales rose 13 percent in May on the back of strong growth in the United States.
Sales increased in all the company's major markets to reach a monthly total of 53,539, Volvo said in a statement on Monday.
U.S. deliveries increased by 51 percent, while volume in China was up 8.2 percent. Sales in Europe grew 1.7 percent.
The XC60 was the brand's best-selling model last month, Volvo said.
Through May, volume was up 14 percent to 253,581.
