Mercedes-Benz extended its lead as the top-selling luxury brand over main rivals Audi and BMW in China last month.
Mercedes sales kept growing at a double-digit pace in June, advancing 14 percent to 56,945. Audi’s registrations dropped for the first time this year, declining 7.2 percent to 48,177. Sales of the BMW brand rose 1.6 percent to 48,062.
Audi has staged a strong rebound this year after local dealers stopped ordering new vehicles in 2017 to protest the brand's attempt to open a second China distribution network.
In the first half, Mercedes-Benz sales rose 16 percent to top 340,000, while Audi demand jumped 20 percent to 306,590. BMW brand sales increased 3.4 percent to 286,536.
