PARIS -- The Peugeot 3008 compact SUV has gained more driving-assistance features, upgraded interior screens and a new front fascia as part of a mid-cycle facelift.
The 3008 has been a strong seller for Peugeot after it was redesigned in 2016 as an SUV from a minivan. Since then, the model has remained in the top three of its segment in Europe.
PSA added a plug-in hybrid version this year, sold with either front-wheel or four-wheel-drive.
“It was a challenge” to upgrade the 3008, Peugeot CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato said on a webcast event on Tuesday to show the facelift.
Peugeot focused on several key areas, including continuing to move the 3008 upmarket and adding the latest technologies.
The 3008 and the midsize 5008 – also redesigned as an SUV – have been a pillar of PSA Group CEO Carlos Tavares’ effort to increase pricing across the range.
