Toyota passed Skoda for the most top five finishes in Europe with 21, just one ahead of the Czech automaker's 20 markets through seven months.
Toyota was led by the RAV4's seven top fives, which included No. 1 finishes for the compact SUV during the first seven months in Estonia and Norway, according to market researcher JATO Dynamics.
The RAV4 also was No. 2 in Latvia and Lithuania, ranked third in Ireland and finished No. 4 in Finland and Sweden.
The Toyota Yaris small hatchback had six top five finishes, including the leading position in Finland, Greece and Switzerland.
The Toyota Corolla also had six top five finishes, including placing No. 1 in Poland, No. 2 in Ireland, No. 3 in Finland and Latvia, fourth in Estonia and fifth in Lithuania.
Skoda was led by the Octavia's 12 top fives, which included No. 1 finishes for the compact car during the first half in Austria, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Slovakia and Slovenia, JATO's figures show.
