Ford’s new plug-in hybrid version of the Ranger pickup includes a feature that lets users power their work tools from the vehicle’s battery, the company said in a statement.
The Ranger Plug-In Hybrid was unveiled at the IAA commercial vehicle show in Hanover, Germany, on Sept. 16, ahead of European deliveries in spring 2025.
The Pro Power Onboard feature allows users to plug-in tools to cancel the need for a combustion engine generator in locations without power. An optional system delivers up to 6.9 kilowatts from two 15-amp outlets in the load box, while the standard set-up is 2.3kW.
