Lamborghini Sesto Elemento concept
Vehicle type: 2-seat coupe concept
Engine: 5.2-liter, 570-hp V-10
Who designed it: Filippo Perini and the Lamborghini Centro Stile
What's cool: Extremely lightweight construction, thanks to advanced carbon-fiber-reinforced plastics technology, which slashes curb weight to just less than 1 metric ton or 2,202 pounds. The combination of 570 hp and reduced weight takes the car to a stunning acceleration figure: just 2.5 seconds from 0 to 62 mph.
Will it be built: The carbon fiber technology debuts in March at the Geneva show on the Murcielago replacement, which is expected to weigh less than 3,300 pounds or about 20 percent less than the current model.
Show reaction: An extreme concept car is always a head-turner.
