Ken Ramirez, a former Renault-Nissan Alliance and PSA Group executive, has joined Hyundai as head of Central and South America operations.
Ramirez, 52, was most recently head of European sales and marketing at Peugeot, a position he had held since 2019. Before joining PSA Group, he had a lengthy career at the Renault-Nissan Alliance, starting at Nissan Mexico in 2003. In 2018 he became head of sales and marketing for Nissan Europe.
In his new role he will be president and CEO of both Hyundai Motor Brazil and Hyundai Motor Central and South America.
At Hyundai, Ramirez will report to Jose Munoz, Hyundai Motors chief operating officer and head of the Americas region. Munoz is also a veteran of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, serving as head of Nissan North America and also chief performance officer at Nissan before moving to Hyundai in April 2019.
“Ken’s deep international experience across Europe, the U.S., Japan, Mexico and Latin America makes him the perfect leader to expand our business in the important Central and South American markets,” Munoz said in a news release on Tuesday announcing Ramirez’s appointment.
Ramirez's other management positions at the Renault-Nissan Alliance included Nissan managing director for the Caribbean and Latin America; vice president and managing director for Nissan’s Americas operations, including North America; head of Renault UK; and senior vice president, sales and marketing for Renault in Europe.
