PARIS — Peugeot has named Phil York, most recently an executive at Infiniti in Japan, as head of marketing and communications. York succeeds Thierry Lonziano, who becomes managing director Peugeot Italy.
York, 52, is a graduate of the University of Bath in England, according to his LinkedIn profile, and started his automotive career at Fiat UK in 1997. He moved to Renault Group in 1999 as a product manager in the UK.
York then held management positions in product and brand management and marketing in France and the Adriatic region before being named marketing director for the UK and Ireland in 2009.
In 2014 he was named brand strategy director for Renault, Dacia and Lada. He moved to Infiniti, the premium subbrand of alliance partner Nissan, in 2018 as head of global marketing and brand, and in 2020 was promoted to general manager, global brand and marketing, based in Japan.
Lonziano joined PSA Group, now part of Stellantis, in 1994. He held management positions in fleet sales, finance and marketing, and in 2018 was named head of marketing and communications at Peugeot.
