Volkswagen Group's Seat unit has named Ignasi Prieto as its marketing boss.
Prieto takes on the role in addition to his current job as head of marketing at the Cupra subbrand.
Prieto will start in his new position on Nov. 1, reporting to Kai Vogler, Seat's head of sales and marketing, and Antonino Labate, Cupra's strategy director.
Prieto has had 15 years' marketing and advertising experience in the industry. He joined Seat in 2015 as head of brand advertising, before becoming head of brand content and sponsoring, and social media, two years later.
In January 2020, he was appointed to his current role as Cupra's marketing boss.
Prior to joining Seat, Prieto worked for more than eight years at Nissan, where he held various positions in advertising, business strategy and customer retail experience.
Prieto has been a "strategic asset in the positioning of the two brands and especially in leveraging awareness for the Cupra brand. His commitment and skills will help us tremendously to continue growing," Seat and Cupra CEO Wayne Griffiths said in a statement.
Prieto succeeds Jason Lusty, who will become head of brand strategy and group marketing at VW Group.
