MOSCOW -- Russia's new-car sales rose 10 percent in November, up from 8.2 percent growth in October, the Association of European Businesses (AEB) lobby group said on Thursday.
“Total car market sales continue to demonstrate robust momentum in November," AEB Chairman Joerg Schreiber said in the release. "We can expect a similar strong performance in December, as customers are rushing to take advantage of year-end price deals including the still valid VAT rate.”
The number of new cars sold last month was 167,494.
Market leader Lada increase sales 15 percent during the month to 33,663. Its closest competitor, Kia, boosted its volume 30 percent to 21,011 in November but remained a distance second place in the market.
Other winners during the month of November were Skoda (+43 percent), Mitsubishi (+38 percent), Land Rover (+ 44 percent) and Volvo (+64 percent).

Sales for the first 11 months of the year were 1.6 million vehicles, up 14 percent from the same period of 2017.
