FRANKFURT -- Tesla and some Asian brands were the big winners last month in Germany as the market dropped 18 percent to 241,330, data from the KBA motor transport authority showed.
Tesla’s sales leapt 117 percent last month, while demand for Honda vehicles was up 43 percent.
Renault budget brand Dacia was one of only two European brands to gain last month as sales rose 35 percent.
Demand for Jeep was up 7.7 percent.

Other winners included Lexus (+17 percent), Mitsubishi (+15 percent), Kia (+13 percent) and Mazda (+11 percent).
Toyota sales were flat.
Registrations of full-electric vehicles continued to gain traction last month, rising 15 percent for a 14.3 percent share of the market, KBA figures showed.
Through March, German sales fell 4.6 percent to 625,954.
