Mercedes launches first 4-cylinder S class

The Mercedes S250 CDI with a four-cylinder engine is likely to be popular in countries such as France, the U.K. and the Netherlands, which are raising auto taxes based on carbon-dioxide emissions.

BERLIN (Bloomberg) -- Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz is rolling out an S-class sedan with a four-cylinder engine, a first in the model's 60-year history as it vies with BMW AG and Audi for the “green” luxury driver.
