CAREER HIGHLIGHTSDomenicali joined Ferrari's finance department in 1991 but quickly moved to the automaker's racing department. He served as team principal for Ferrari's Formula One team from 2008 to 2014. In October 2014, Domenicali was hired by Audi to lead the German automaker's F1-entry bid, which was aborted a year later. In March 2016, he was named Lamborghini's boss.
REASON FOR WINNINGLamborghini's worldwide sales were up by 11 percent to a record 2,327 in the first half on strong demand for the Huracan and Aventador supercars. To give perspective to that number, it surpassed Lamborg-hini's full-year sales from five years ago. The strong gain also came before the company began delivering its first SUV, the Urus, in July. Domenicali is confident the Urus will help Lamborghini double global sales to more than 7,000 units in 2019.
