In 1999, he moved to Seat before returning in 2001 to Lancia, where he led the design department and created the much acclaimed Fulvia coupe concept. Manzoni added the Fiat passenger car and LCV brands to his responsibilities in 2004. Two years later he joined the Volkswagen Group as creative design director. He moved to Ferrari in 2010.
REASON FOR WINNING
Manzoni’s mission was to create Ferrari’s first in-house design department, including a model making area, a virtual reality lab and hiring high-level specialists and designers. Since Manzoni joined Ferrari, the design department has created more than 30 production and one-off models, from the F12 Berlinetta to the limited-edition LaFerrari hypercar. Manzoni’s team delivered convincing results, both with modern reinterpretations of past iconic models such as the Monza SP1 and SP2, and with all-new designs, such as the just-launched SF90 Stradale.
