REASONS FOR WINNING
What does a sustainable automotive company look like? That question is becoming more important as the industry transitions to electrification at a time when there is more and more awareness of limited resources and environmental impact. Toyota Motor Europe has become a leader in this field, not only in Europe but also across the wider Toyota organization.
Perez Lobo leads Toyota Motor Europe’s sustainability efforts from the perspectives of business integration, corporate, social and communications. She acts as the sustainability connection between TME and Toyota Motor Corporation, effectively translating TMC’s sustainability vision to TME and similarly (but more importantly) pushing TME’s ambitions in the field to TMC. Toyota Motor Europe aims to be a trailblazer in sustainability and ESG practices, for example, sharply reducing its factory emissions with innovative ideas, and it is now integrating these systemic changes into their future business model. Perez Lobo’s hands-on approach is not limited to Toyota, but also aims at creating sustainability and social ecosystems in partnerships with universities, governmental bodies and nonprofits, including the Toyota Open Labs.
