What was your first automotive job and why were you interested in the industry?

I started as a project manager for the production of heat exchangers. I was particularly drawn to the automotive industry because of its state-of-the-art production methods and the dynamic international work environment it offered. The automotive sector’s constant pursuit of innovation and its global reach really appealed to me.

Greatest achievement?

The introduction of a new product for Stellantis when it was still known as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Serving as project manager during this endeavor, we faced considerable challenges. These included demanding customer expectations and tight deadlines. However, through perseverance and effective communication, we transformed a difficult relationship with the customer into a positive one by project completion. Notably, the product emerged as one of our most resilient designs, showcasing exemplary manufacturability. I’m privileged to have contributed to such a successful project alongside an exceptional team.

What was your biggest failure and what did it teach you?

On one occasion, I was asked to stand in for one of my executive colleagues at a meeting. Unfortunately, I was informed of this change only 30 minutes before the meeting. I didn’t have enough time to prepare adequately. As a result, the meeting descended into chaos and crucial decisions were delayed. This experience taught me the vital lesson of always being prepared, even for unforeseen circumstances. It also taught me the importance of knowing when to say no to a request. Thankfully, I learned this lesson early in my career.

What is your current challenge at work?

To guarantee the operational excellence of GKN Automotive’s recently established Engineering Center in Felsozsolca, Hungary.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

My grandfather told me: “You don’t have to learn; you have to know.” His profound message underscores the importance of not just gathering information but to truly understand and internalize it. It suggests that true mastery comes from actively seeking to learn and comprehend skills, rather than passively engaging in mental exercises. Without this, learning becomes a hollow pursuit. What advice would you give to a person considering a career in the auto industry?

Always strive to stay prepared and actively work toward transforming chaos into order. The key to success lies in preparation. By anticipating various scenarios for potential events, you gain the ability to influence decisions. Additionally, thorough preparation empowers you to not only identify problems but also to proactively offer solutions.

What job do you really want to have in the future?

I consider myself fortunate to work for a company that offers numerous opportunities. I’m seeking a position where I can leverage my abilities to work collaboratively with others. I want to help influence strategic decisions to support the growth of both my company and country.

What do you do to relax?

I enjoy playing the guitar, watching and playing soccer, reading books and spending time with family.

Where is your dream location to live?

In the local context, I find Regec, Hungary, captivating. Nestled beside a picturesque castle, it boasts stunning surroundings with expansive fields, dense forests, rolling hills, serene valleys and meandering rivers. Internationally, I am fascinated by Japan, particularly any location near Mount Fuji.

What is your favorite driving song?

“Drive Home” by Steven Wilson. The song features one of the most melodious guitar solos ever recorded.

What was your favorite road trip and why?

My wife and I took a trip to Montenegro. The environment was exceptionally beautiful and the driving experience was memorable.

What was your first car?

A Toyota Corolla.

A Volkswagen Arteon.

If you were a car, which one would you be?

I would be a Porsche Taycan.
