MUNICH -- Electric-car brands Polestar and Tesla pushed German registrations higher in February.
Passenger-car sales rose 3.2 percent to 200,512 compared with February 2021, the KBA motor transport authority said.
Sales of Polestar cars increased 250 percent, while Tesla's registrations jumped by 210 percent.
Total sales of battery-electric cars rose by 55 percent to 28,306 for a 14.1 percent market share. Plug-in hybrid sales fell 1.9 percent for a 10.8 percent share.

Other monthly winners were Dacia, up 124 percent; Honda, up 111 percent; and Mini, up 13 percent.
Losers included Land Rover, down 48 percent; Citroen, down 26 percent; Renault, down 22 percent; and Ford, down 12 percent.
Sales of market leader VW brand fell by 8 percent.
Through February, German sales rose 5.6 percent to 384,624.
