Twenty-two brands increased their March European sales by more than the market, which was up 25 percent, while 55 brands ended the third month of the year with volume gains.
Meanwhile, 17 brands were in negative territory last month, according to preliminary figures from market researcher Dataforce.
Six brands, led by Geely subsidiaries Lynk & CO and Lotus, China's BYD and Nio, and Stellantis' Alfa Romeo and Maserati, reported triple-digit percentage sales gains.
