FRANKFURT -- Opel and its sister brand Vauxhall will start producing full-electric versions of the Mokka X SUV and Vivaro van in 2020, the automaker said.
Opel is also opening order books for a full-electric Opel Corsa from the first half of 2019, as well as a plug-in hybrid version of the Opel Grandland X.
The battery-powered Corsa will be sold at a competitive price, Opel CEO Michael Lohscheller said. The car "will make electro-mobility affordable for many customers, it will be a real electric car for the people," he said in a statement on Thursday.
Lohscheller said the battery-powered versions of the Mokka and Vivaro showed the brand is "putting maximum effort into the electrification of our portfolio."
