AvtoVAZ will continue producing its Lada Vesta model (pictured) and vehicles from Renault's B0 platform on March 21-22 its Izhevsk plant.

AvtoVAZ is partially halting production at its Russian plants in Togliatti and Izhevsk on March 21-25 due to shortages of electronic parts.

AvtoVAZ, controlled by Renault, has periodically stopped its production this month over shortages.

Renault produces two models - the Logan and Sandero -- for the Russian market in Izhevsk, along with Lada models.

AvtoVAZ said the Izhevsk plant will continue producing its Vesta model and vehicles from Renault's B0 platform on March 21-22.

AvtoVAZ said work on all assembly lines will be idled on March 23-25, but that some production functions would continue operations during this period.

    Renault Moscow output restarts

Renault resumed production at its Moscow plant on Monday after the automaker suspended operations there in late February, saying at the time it was due to a "forced change in existing logistic routes."

Two sources told Reuters that the board of Renault studied different options some 10 days ago, but decided for the time being to change nothing and keep its presence intact in Russia, in compliance with international sanctions and with the backing of its main shareholder, the French state.

Renault, which returned to profit in 2021 after two years of losses, is among Western companies most exposed to Russia, where it makes 8 percent of its core earnings, according to Citibank.
