Sander: Ford goes electric

Ford is transforming its European vehicle lineup as it prepares to go all-electric in 2030, with a range that is focused on electric crossovers and SUVs that highlight the automaker's American roots.

The Mustang Mach e midsize crossover, launched in 2021, will be followed by several models developed in collaboration with Volkswagen Group, starting with the Explorer, a compact SUV based on the MEB electric platform. Another MEB model, expected to be called Explorer Sport, will follow. At the same time, Ford is developing its own electric platform.

Hear about Ford's electric vehicle strategy in Europe from Martin Sander, general manager Ford Model e Europe, at this year's Automotive News Europe Congress.
