Klaren: 'We wear our emissions on our sleeve'

Polestar, the Geely EV brand that recently went public, is swiftly ramping up production and sales as it expands its lineup. But Polestar is facing a new challenge: how to decouple its business growth from increased emissions as a company. In 2021, it was able to cut emissions per car produced by 8 percent. The ultimate goal is the zero-emission car by 2030.

“We wear our emissions on our sleeve," says Polestar's head of sustainability Fredrika Klaren, "measuring and scrutinizing every detail ensures we keep our eye on the ball. Electrification alone is not enough and pure EV-makers like Polestar have a lot of work ahead of us."

Hear how Polestar is balancing business growth with the need to reduce its emissions from head of sustanability Frerika Klaren at this year's Automotive News Europe Congres.
