Skoda is previewing its new design language for the electric era with the Vision 7S SUV concept.

The couple-like concept shows how a battery-electric successor to the Kodiaq large SUV could look, motoring press reports said.

Skoda will reveal details of its new design language, which it is calling Modern Solid, on Aug. 30.

"It will be the most dramatic change for Skoda since it became part of Volkswagen Group and will prepare the brand for the digital and electric era," Skoda sales and marketing chief Martin Jahn said during the brand's annual media conference on March 22.

Skoda released sketches of its Vision 7S ahead of its unveiling on Aug. 30, showing a chunky SUV with a significantly reworked front end.

While the sharply contoured hood is familiar to the brand, a redesigned bumper has seven vertical air vents arranged around a single distinctive orange inlet. Other offroad features include an aluminum engine guard and large chunky wheels.

The concept's styling reflects Skoda's “familiar brand values, such as robustness and functionality,” Skoda said.

The production model will offer a spacious interior that will use durable and sustainable materials, the company said.
