Valeo looks to cut costs to grow lidar market for self-driving cars

PRAGUE -- After working on automotive-grade lidar for a dozen years, Valeo has begun to supply components and systems for the first cars to offer Level 3 self-driving capabilities. Now, it wants to sharply expand the market by offering more powerful, less expensive units.
