GM to boost small engine production in 3 U.S. plants

GM said it is gearing up to handle engine production for the Chevrolet Volt, Chevrolet Cruze and a small car that will be produced at its Orion Township (Michigan) plant.

DETROIT (Reuters) -- General Motors Co. plans to invest $163 million at plants in Michigan and Ohio to add engine production for the Chevrolet Cruze, the Chevy Volt and an unnamed new small car.
