Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, will be keynote speaker at the Automotive News Europe Congress on June 10 in Birmingham, England.

In recent weeks, Speth has said that JLR, a unit of Tata Motors, needs a U.S. factory to stay competitive here, but that the decision is about three years away. Meanwhile, JLR is pushing ahead in China, where it opened a plant in Changshu last October.

Speth was named JLR's top executive in February 2010. Before that, he was head of global operations at Linde Group, an international industrial gases and engineering company.

Speth started his business career at BMW, leaving after 20 years to join Ford Motor's Premier Automotive Group, which included Jaguar and Land Rover.

He earned a doctorate of engineering and is an industrial professor at the University of Warwick in Coventry, U.K.

The congress will be held on June 9-10 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

This year's theme is "Reinvented and Reinvigorated."
