After an eight-month delay, Ford will start series production of the Explorer, its first volume full-electric car for Europe, in June.
The first Explorers will be delivered to customers in August, a Ford spokesman told Automotive News Europe sister publication Automobilwoche.
The Explorer was originally due to be delivered to customers at the end of last year but the market launch was delayed to upgrade the compact SUV to new European battery standards.
Another full-electric newcomer is the Ford Explorer, based on the VW MEB platform.

The Explorer's starting price is expected to be below 45,000 euros ($48,200). It will compete with cars such as the Cupra Tavascan, Nissan Ariya, and Toyota bZ4X.
Ford is accelerating the introduction of mass-market electric vehicles in Europe under its industrial partnership with Volkswagen Group. The Explorer uses the same VW Group MEB platform as the VW ID4.
Ford is building the Explorer in Cologne, Germany, after axing the Fiesta that was built there as it goes all-electric in Europe.
Ford will begin building a sportier, coupe-styled sibling to the Explorer in Cologne at the end of this year. It will share underpinnings with the VW ID5.
Ford plans to build next-generation of EVs on an inhouse global, software-defined platform in Valencia, Spain, by the middle of the decade.
