Chinese newcomer Nio boosted sales nearly 200 percent in November with 274 registrations, led by its ES8 premium electric SUV, according to preliminary figures from market researcher Dataforce (some markets were late with their figures because of the holidays).

Cadillac nearly tripled sales to 99 in November from 36 during the same month last year, led by the XT4 compact premium SUV.

Cadillac nearly tripled sales in November on demand for the XT4 compact premium SUV.

Maserati increased sales 129 percent to 822, of which the new Grecale premium midsize SUV accounted for 78 percent of the Stellantis luxury brand's volume, up from 77 percent in October.

Another Chinese brand, MG, increased sales 102 percent to 13,716. This was driven by strong demand for the MG ZS small crossover, which doubled sales during the month compared with November 2021.

Tesla increased sales 97 percent in November to 31,820 unit largely because of a 261 percent surge in sales of the Model Y, which finished the month as Europe's best-selling vehicle. It was the second time in three months that the premium midsize SUV was the region's No. 1-seller.

Rolls-Royce increased sales because of strong demand for the Cullinan.

Rolls-Royce increased sales 94 percent to 91 units, of which the Cullinan ultraluxury SUV accounted for 47 percent of the BMW Group subsidiary's volume, according to Dataforce's preliminary numbers.

Polestar increased sales 93 percent on demand for the Polestar 2, which was Europe's No. 4-selling premium EV after 11 months, ahead of models such as the Audi Q4 E-tron and its platform mate, the Volvo XC40.

Volkswagen Group's Cupra subsidiary rose 75 percent, helped by demand for the Born electric compact, which accounted for 4,168 sales, up from the EV's 3,003 sales in October. Also, sales of the Cupra Formentor grew nearly 30 percent to doubled to 6,218 in November.

Audi's sales rose 59 percent to 60,169 vehicles on strong demand for the A3 and A6, which recorded gains of 100 percent and nearly 300 percent, respectively.

Ford rose 40 percent because of brisk demand for the Puma small SUV, which increase sales more than 200 percent last month. Another winner for Ford was the Kuga, which had a 57 percent sales gain in November.

The 15 brands that recorded gains but were below the market average included Ferrari, Land Rover, Mazda and Volvo (all +17 percent), Dacia and Mercedes (both +16 percent) and BMW, Mini and Skoda (all +15 percent).
