SAO PAULO -- Mercedes-Benz will wind down car production in Brazil, shutting down its small factory that builds the C-Class and GLA models.
About 370 jobs will be lost with the closure.
The company said that the coronavirus pandemic had caused a drop in demand for luxury vehicles that made it unsustainable to keep the factory open.
Mercedes opened the plant in Iracemapolis near Sao Paulo in 2016. It has an annual capacity of 20,000 completely knocked down (CKD) vehicles.
